Timarron Owners Association, Inc. (“TOA” or “Association”) is a master-planned community designed to be a place where one may live and play without leaving the familiar features of the home. These features, particularly architecture and landscape, both natural and man-made, have been selectively woven into the Timarron Owners Association, Inc. infrastructure and serve to unite the community's function and visual appearance and affirm the sense of belonging and community pride of its inhabitants. Our seventeen-neighborhood association is located in both Southlake and Colleyville, Texas with winding sidewalks joining our neighborhoods and the community.
The TOA is a Texas non-profit incorporated on July 2, 1991, for the purpose of owning and managing commonly owned property, as well as enforcing covenants, conditions, and restrictions on the homes within Timarron. The goal of the Association is to protect the value and desirability of our community through:
- Uniting the visual appearance through adhering to and enforcing thoughtful design guidelines and maintaining neighborhood integrity.
- Maintaining shared common areas.
- Managing our recreational amenities.
- Presenting lifestyle events suited for residents of all ages.
- Budgeting, billing, and collecting annual assessments.
- Providing long-term financial management in order to repair and replace shared assets when needed.
- Budgeting, billing, and collecting annual assessments.
- Ensuring insurance coverage necessary to protect association assets.
History
In 1990, Mobil Land Development Corporation, a subsidiary of Mobil Oil Corporation, saw an opportunity to build a master-planned community in the growing city of Southlake, TX. Other residential developments in North Texas had been successfully built in the late 1980s driven by access to excellent schools, responsive city government, proximity to DFW Airport, and located within a short commute to both Dallas and Fort Worth. Mobil’s vision in Southlake was for a large, multifaceted community with extensive recreational amenities and a country club golf course. Provisions for a school were made and even land for Southlake city buildings near FM 1709 was designated near one of the entrances to the community. Land parcels totaling 1100 acres were purchased, including an attractive parcel in the neighboring city of Colleyville. Golf icon Byron Nelson was hired to help design the golf course and a name, “Timarron”, was chosen. Initial planning and permitting were completed in 1991 and construction began on the community infrastructure and the golf course. Building lots for individual homes were first made available in 1992 and Timarron Country Club (TCC) opened for play in 1994.
TCC was sold to ClubCorp in 1997, although it did and continues to remain a member of the Association as a commercial member. In 1999, Mobil Land sold its Timarron interests to another developer and the homeowners at the time took over full control of the TOA, which to that point had been shared with the original developers. Build out of the community was completed in 2004. Today Timarron consists of 1551 single-family homes spread over 17 uniquely designed neighborhoods. Fifteen of those neighborhoods are in Southlake and two are in Colleyville.
Each property comes with one Membership in the Association, creating a “one home, one vote" relationship between property owners and the Association.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Timarron Owners Association is to provide its members a superior residential development with amenities, policies, and standards that maintain the quality of life for its neighbors, maximize the property values of its homeowners, and provide uniform administration and enforcement of it policies. The principal points of focus to fulfill the mission are to:
- Administer strict but fair enforcement of covenants and restrictions.
- Maintain the high standards of Timarron’s landscaping and infrastructure.
- Respond to property owners' particular needs and ideas.
- Maintain accountability to the elected neighborhood delegates.
- Control costs with reasonable annual assessments.
The Future
What does the future hold for Timarron? The answer to this question lies in the hands of everyone who lives here today, not just in the hands of the Board of Directors, Voting Members, committee and council volunteers, and professional staff. If we, as a community, build on what our predecessors have done and continue to strive toward the goal established in our mission statement - “to provide a superior residential development” - we will safeguard Timarron for future generations.
