The Timarron Tigersharks is a competitive swim program that operates at the Bent Creek Pool each summer. Approximately 300 swimmers, ages 5 to high school, convene starting just after the school year ends in May through mid-July. They practice 4 mornings per week by age group. Wednesday afternoons the Tigershark swimmers compete at the Carroll ISD Aquatic Center in summer-league swim meets. Most of the Tigershark swimmers are Timarron residents, but the program is open to non-residents as space allows. Non-residents pay an additional registration fee per swimmer that is then passed on to the Timarron Owners Association. Timarron residents receive preferential enrollment and pricing.
The program is run by Kevin Murphy, the award winning varsity swim coach at Southlake Carroll High School, since May 2006. He is helped by several assistant coaches and a lifeguard is on duty during all practices and meets. In addition to the swim team, Coach Murphy also offers a Learn-to-Swim program exclusively for Timarron residents. The swim lessons are typically offered in three sessions for beginner to advanced swimmers and are held in the afternoons at the Bent Creek pool following the swim team practices in the mornings. Residents may sign up for either the swim team, swim lessons, or both.
